Bush Confronts Peace

The Specter of War looms,
Creeping like a figure,
Greedy with shady speculations;
Gesticulations apt to snatch away
The purple shadow of Peace.
Vain-glorious men are testing
The limits of their power.
Soon allegiances will be made
And the tension between the energies
Will fade as gently as this sunset.
A new triad for an old land,
Where rust and distrust
Are crossed with the lost.
